Putnam, CT (Mon.9/3-Sun.9/9)

We are camping in an Army Corps of Engineers national campground – features include Disc Golf, hiking, water (though no swimming is allowed, apparently the water that the Army Corps of Engineers dammed up isn't quite so clean), a playground, and no mosquitoes

Kim took the boys to the Boxcar Children Museum. The Boxcar Children is a children's book series by Gertrude Chandler Warner who wrote them in the 40's and 50's right here in Putnam, Connecticut.

Sunday we listened to a Hope Community Church sermon on the way. I pretended that I was talking to Pastor Cor on the phone and then “transferred” the phone to the truck speakers. Shae was very quiet for a long time listening to the sermon and then whispered to Elan, “Can Pastor Cor hear us?” It was good but definitely bittersweet to listen to Hope Sunday sermon.

Well, off to Cape Cod

Kim,

The Box Car Children! We must have read 50 of those books when Luke was younger. Benny - who was always hungry! :) We used to get quite a kick out of him. It would be fun to visit the museum some time. I didn't know it existed.

You are in my thoughts as you continue on your adventure.

Have all your guys give you a big hug for me, ok?

Sue
